Reduction of exchange capacity between France and England.

On Monday, 2 December 2002, at about 2 a.m., an incident occurring on one of the transformers located on the English side of the France - United Kingdom cross-Channel link (IFA 2000) has led to the reduction of exchange capacity between the two countries.

Considering the information available thus far, the available capacity would remain at 1500 MW up to Tuesday, 10 December 2002.

As a result of this incident, National Grid and RTE will not make available the volumes usually put up for auction every day, i.e. 419 MW in the direction France-England and 500 MW in the direction England-France.

Further information will be provided as soon as possible.
