Intended for property owners and works contractors mandated by EDF and RTE, the vegetation control guide includes recommendations for the purpose of improving the quality of present services.

EDF, RTE and their forestry service providers have joined forces with the representatives of the French public and private forest sector to draw up a guide for the "control of vegetation beneath and in the vicinity of power lines", based on expectations expressed at the local level.

This guide is a pragmatic and concrete approach to the questions raised by forest and property owners. It presents the rights and obligations of all those concerned in the form of questions and answers. It also proposes recommendations on how to keep this vegetation under control. It is planned to distribute the guide to all the partners of the rural world, with each partner organisation involved in drawing up this document pledging to issue it to its representatives.

The guide to the "Control of vegetation beneath and in the vicinity of power lines" is a first stage in a broader dynamic aimed at improving the quality of current practices and to do so in a spirit of listening and dialogue with property owners and farmers. The second stage calls for the finalising of an outline agreement, which will mark the commitment to these channels of improvement.
