Monday 3rd October 2005, RTE presented the 2005 edition of its Generation Adequacy Report on the electricity supply - demand balance, to industry minister Mr Loos, during his visit to the CNES.

Monday 3rd October 2005, André Merlin, Chairman of the RTE Management Board, handed the 2005 edition of the Generation Adequacy Report to industry minister Mr François Loos, during his visit to RTE's National Control Centre, the CNES.

RTE's Generation Adequacy Report contributes to the Government's Long-term Investment Programmes (PPI). Market players use the report to guide their investments in generating facilities.

The Law of 10th February 2000 entrusted RTE with the task of drawing up a Generation Adequacy Report on the electricity supply - demand balance every two years.

RTE has published the 2005 edition of the Report, which covers the period 2006?2016. It includes an assessment of new generating capacity requirements.
