RTE publishes new information related to production units under a compulsory purchase contract with EDF

Since the 3rd November 2015, information related to production units under a compulsory purchase contract with EDF are published on RTE’s customer website.

This new publication is following the creation of a balance responsible entity’s perimeter dedicated to the production units under a compulsory purchase contract introduced by the deliberation of the french regulatory energy commission released in 2014, 16th December1.

To manage this recent perimeter, EDF uses markets since the 3rd November 2015, and must provide its generation forecasts for its entire perimeter before starting to exchange on the markets.
To make sure that every energy-market players have the same level of information, the french regulatory energy commission has entrusted RTE to publish these information.

Since the 3rd November 2015, RTE publishes on its customer website:

  • The generation forecasts of capacities under a compulsory purchase contract with EDF-OA : updated from Day-3 to intraday
  • The potential power generation forecast of cogeneration units under a compulsory purchase contract with EDF-OA, that have chosen to be available the electrical system (MDSE) : updated on Day-1
  • The installed capacities of production units under a compulsory purchase contract with EDF-OA: monthly updated

This new publication is in line with the missions of RTE to provide information on installed capacities of production and electricity market operation.
