The website is a portal for accessing other sites which may or may not belong to RTE or companies owned by RTE, and which are likely to have their own legal information and disclaimers. These should be consulted and complied with.

3. Freedom of Information

In accordance with Law n°78-17 of 6 January 1978, amended by Law n° 2004-801 of 6 August 2004, concerning information technology, files and freedoms, the French National Commission on Information technology and Freedoms (CNIL) has officially approved the automated processing of personal data on the website.

The user is informed that any information provided by him/her using the forms provided on the website is intended for RTE and may be passed on to third parties and notably companies owned by RTE.

In accordance with Article 38 of Law n° 78-17 dated 6 January 1978, amended by Law n° 2004-801 dated 6 August 2004, the user is entitled to oppose any such transfer or processing of data concerning him/her, by writing to the address indicated above.

Any personal data provided by users is given voluntarily. If users fail to provide this information, RTE will be unable to process the corresponding files.

4. Compliance with legislation

RTE informs users of the website that all laws and regulations currently in force apply to the Internet.

Users of the website are required to comply with the provisions of the Law of 6 January 1978 concerning information technology, files and freedoms. Any breach of this legislation is considered a criminal offence.

Users must also refrain from collecting or misusing the personal data they access, and must in general refrain from any behaviour likely to impair the private life or reputation of persons.

All information or documents contained on the website, together with all the elements created for the site, either remain the property of RTE or are covered by a right of use, exploitation or reproduction. These elements are subject to legislation protecting authorship rights. Consequently, no licence or any other right is granted to any party under intellectual property rights, with the exception of the right to consult information.

Any reproduction, representation, modification, publication, transmission or misrepresentation of the site or its content, either total or partial and by any procedure or on any media, is strictly forbidden.

The user shall be held liable for any unauthorised exploitation of the site or its content or the information disclosed thereupon. Furthermore, any such unauthorised exploitation shall constitute an act of counterfeiting prohibited by Articles L 335-2 and following of the French Intellectual Property Code.

This also applies to any databases appearing on the website, which are protected by Articles L. 341-1 to L. 343-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code. As such, the user shall be held liable for any reproduction or extraction.

The user undertakes not to use the website to transmit, by any means whatsoever (e-mail or other), any content including programmes, codes or viruses intended to destroy or disrupt the functions of the website. The user may be held criminally or civilly liable for any breach of this commitment.

RTE reserves the right, concerning its interactive services, to delete immediately and without prior notice, any content of any kind, and notably any message, text, image or graphic, which contravenes the laws and regulations in force and notably the regulations described above.

If the user wishes to use site content (text, image, etc.), he/she undertakes to request prior written authorisation from RTE, by writing to the address indicated in Article 3 or by sending an e-mail to the Webmaster on the following page.

5. Hyperlinks

Express prior authorisation has been obtained for the hyperlinks placed on the website and which redirect users to other resources present on the Internet. However, since RTE does not publish these sites, it is unable to verify their content. RTE is therefore not responsible for the content of external sites accessed in this way, or any collection and transmission of personal data, installation of cookies or any other process intended to achieve the same ends, which may be carried out by these sites.

Users of and visitors to the website may under no circumstances insert any hyperlinks that lead to without first obtaining RTE's written authorisation. Any request for such authorisation must be sent to the Editor-in-Chief of the website.

6. Amendments to legal information

RTE reserves the right to amend the present legal information at any time. The user therefore undertakes to consult it regularly.

7. Droit applicable en cas de litige

In the event of any dispute, French law shall apply.
